Dear Friend,
We hope you will enjoy this edition of WomenCARE's e-newsletter, and we invite you to share it with friends. Encourage them to subscribe. Spread the word, share the news.

The 10th annual STRIKE OUT AGAINST CANCER bowling benefit was a lot of fun and a big success. We reached our $60,000 goal on the day of the event! We are currently up to $62,380, and it keeps coming in!! It's not too late to donate.
Thanks to all who bowled and to the hundreds who supported them financially. It feels wonderful to be a part of such a caring community!
It is with deep sadness that we tell you of the passing of Linda Rose, the angel who organized and facilitated the monthly Healing Chi-Gong and Healing Meditation group at the Land of Medicine Buddha. Held in a circle of love and meditative support, she passed peacefully in the early hours of 17 October.

The Healing Chi-Gong and Healing Meditation group will continue to meet on the 1st Wednesday of every month thanks to the generosity and willingness of Tenzin Chogkyi.

SOMATIC SKILLS—a new class
Learn somatic (body-based) skills to reduce anxiety and increase wellbeing. We will practice ways of diffusing pain, and we will learn and practice "state shifting"(moving from states of chronic tension to deep relaxation). This work is based on Somatic Experiencing and Focusing, as well as recent advances in Neuroscience (it's possible to google these).

You Are Not Alone
A Guide for Women newly diagnosed with cancer

"When the doctor says, "You have cancer," you may feel as though you have been scooped up and thrown into a nightmare - and you feel as though you are on this journey alone.

You Are Not Alone
was created especially for you by other women who have traveled this road - the suggestions and stories focus on what might be helpful to you in this most intense early stage of dealing with a cancer diagnosis - the guide's main purpose is to address some of the emotional, psychological, and spiritual aspects."
