Carla Gomez

Carla Gomez, born and raised in Watsonville, is a lifelong Santa Cruz County resident. One of four sisters, she has always been drawn to women’s issues. Carla has a BA in History from Vassar College in New York, as well as an MSW. She has been working as a Social Worker in Santa Cruz County for the past 15 years. She has worked as an Emergency Response Social Worker for Child Protective Services, a children’s counselor for the Parent’s Center, and a Medical Social Worker for Watsonville Community Hospital. Carla is now an Outreach Coordinator at Palo Alto Medical Foundation, providing outreach and education to women in both English and Spanish on the importance of early detection for breast cancer. She also assists uninsured and underinsured women find resources for breast cancer screenings, navigating them from local community clinics to specialty care. Carla enjoys running, cooking, gardening, and loves scrapbooking. She lives in Watsonville with her husband and two boys, ages 12 and 10. Lately she can be found cheering her kids on the little league field!
